If I change the username to [email protected] and put in the password I get the message 'There was a problem verifying the certificate from the server. Check your devices' clock settings, or contact your support team'. Check your computer's clock and calendar, and make sure your settings are correct. Consider setting your date and time zone settings automatically. This will make sure your computer will update your date and time settings automatically. Unfortunately, some Macs kept this expired certificate and stored it in their Keychain Access app. For now, the fix requires manually removing the expired certificate from your machine. Click the magnifying glass in the upper-right hand corner of your screen and type “Keychain Access” and hit Return.
ScenarioUser cannot sign-in to Skype for Business via client and has error:
'Cannot sign in to Skype for Business because your computer clock is not set correctly. To check your computer clock settings, open Date and Time in the Control Panel.'Solution
Per KB2581291 Microsoft suggests to make sure that the computer's clock and time zone settings are set correctly. And it's correct article except the fact that the registry key 'ClockSkew' is located under another registry path:
HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftMSOIdentityCRL
instead of documented:
HKEY_USERS.DEFAULTSoftwareMicrosoftMSOIdentityCRLIn my particular case users messed with time and had unchecked 'Daylight Saving Time' setting.
The Time Zone, the 'Daylight Saving Time' settings were corrected, time synchronization were completed, registry key 'ClockSkew' was deleted and Skype for Business client could sign-in.
